"Sciencedeep, from Punjab, lost his father to drug addiction and has seen the devastating effect it can have on a person’s health and family’s happiness. Lovepreet then led a team to collate a list of drug addicts in 7 villages, the majority of whom were kids. They created a plan of action, in which each of their members would try talking to a person, involving parents and teachers in the discussion. Lovepreet took the help of local religious Sikh leaders too. Gradually, many were not only convinced to give up drugs but also joined Lovepreet in his mission. The team also provided employment opportunities to the youth. One villager who was a drug-addict now works at a cyber cafe. A relative of Sciencedeep, once an addict, now works as an ambulance driver. Lovepreet also organised more than four sports tournaments, such as kabbadi and throwball. With his constant efforts, Lovepreet was able to change the lives of 60 individuals. They are now creating a youth network who are standing strong against drugs."
